Górski comes from a Karate background, having much success in the discipline. Maciej is currently ranked as #2 Polish Lightweight Mixed Martial Artist by MMAROCKS.PL .[1]
Górski started his career in KSW, but as a karateka he had problems with the grappling aspect of MMA. He showed significant improvements, being able to win the 4-man tournament at KSW Extra, defeating two opponents the same night. He went on to defeat Sengoku veteran Bojan Kosednar at KSW X, and Dalibor Anastasov at WFC 8.
Maciej was then set to face The Ultimate Fighter Season 9 contestant Jeff Lawson at KSW XII, who ultimately was replaced by another contestant of the same show - Dean Amasinger. The bigger Amasinger won by submission, after securing a Guillotine Choke while Maciej was performing a takedown.
Górski did not loose time lamenting the loss and took on Ivan 'The Terrible' Musardo at WFC 10, using his superior conditioning to win a unanimous decision.
He improved his fight record by two in October, taking part in the KSW Lightweight Tournament.[2] In the Quarter-Finals, he knocked out DEEP and Sengoku veteran Kazuki Tokudome in the first round with a high kick-right hook combo. In the Semi-Finals, Maciej used his good conditioning and striking advantage to win a Unanimois Decision over a gassing Michał Mankiewicz. Górski will face Niko Puhakka from Finland in the Lightweight Tournament Final at KSW XV.
September 3, 2011 plans to return to MMA at a gala Australian Fighting Championship 2. Apart from him at a gala in Melbourne, Victoria, will fight MMA star Hector Lombard, Marcin Held, Jesse Taylor and Jai Bradney.[3]
Maciej recently proposed to his girlfriend Zofia. The couple is expecting a daughter.
